Counselling
Our Counselling Service
Counselling is offered to anyone seeking positive change in their personal life and who would like the help of professional, confidential counselling. There is a team of counsellors, all of whom are Christian and trained in various therapies and models. Our counsellors are registered members of professional bodies and have or are working towards accreditation with such bodies as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors UK (ACC). Kingdom Compassion Counselling Service subscribes to the ACC code of conduct in areas of ethics, practice and complaints procedures.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a relational process in which the counsellor and client work together. Counselling is not a quick fix or easy solution to life’s problems. Through counselling people can learn to understand their behaviour, situations, relationships and themselves, enabling informed decisions about life. Counselling sessions will last for an agreed time (about an hour) and will continue for an agreed number of weeks. Counselling remains confidential unless personal safety or risk to children and vulnerable adults is threatened. A person coming to Kingdom Compassion Counselling Service will always see the same counsellor unless for some reason both the client and counsellor agree a change of counsellor may be of benefit.
